Very beautiful old print about geometry from the year 1761 with a beautiful decorative border. This rare French print is entitled: 'Definitions preliminaires des termes de geometry necessaires pour l'intelligence de la sphere et du globe' (= definitions of geometric terms necessary for understanding the sky and the earth). The picture clarifies basic concepts of geometry such as surface, triangle, angle, sinus, etc., using a number of geometric shapes. The year 1761 is printed small in the middle of the bottom edge. It is a copper engraving on sturdy paper.
